Body Care Rituals
Give the skin beyond your face a little attention.
A warm shower, a texture you love, or a few minutes spent moisturizing can turn an everyday task into something you look forward to.
You don’t need a lengthy ritual. Begin with what your skin needs and what fits comfortably into your week.
Choose Your Exfoliation Ritual
A body scrub and a dry brush offer two different ways to physically exfoliate. Choose the approach you enjoy and that your skin tolerates; you don’t need to use both in the same session.
A body scrub combines exfoliation with the familiar rhythm of a shower or bath. Use light pressure and rinse thoroughly.
Dry brushing uses a body brush on dry skin before bathing. Begin with gentle strokes and very light pressure. Avoid repeated passes over the same area, and stop if your skin becomes uncomfortable or irritated.
Skip exfoliation on broken, sunburned, inflamed, or irritated skin. Keep body brushes and body scrubs off your face.
A Simple Body-Care Routine
Begin gently. On a day when your skin feels comfortable, choose either dry brushing before your shower or a body scrub during it.
Rinse with warm water. Keep the temperature comfortable rather than hot.
Moisturize. Pat your skin gently with a towel, then apply moisturizer while it is still slightly damp.
Keep it flexible. Some days, cleansing and moisturizing are all your skin needs.
